Day 2 -- At Sea

Not much to do. In the morning, Al played ping pong and Bo went to a photography class. and a lecture about the next three ports of call. In the afternoon we continued to explore the ship – we went to see the Japanese bath, and accidentally entered a a private club for “elite” members on level 18, which we had no clue existed. This ship is like a floating small town, but it’s not well laid out so on some levels you can’t get all the way through and it’s very easy to get lost. It was a formal night so at 7 pm we joined the crowd at the captain’s party where we chatted with a couple from Perth. At the dinner table, we got a nice surprise – 3 new dinner mates, a woman from Scotland and a young couple from New Jersey, The mix of passengers seems to be about 40% Japanese, 40% Australians and 20% of other. We’ve met 2 couples of Polish people, some Scandinavians, some Filipinos, even a couple from Myanmar. The crew seems to be predominantly Filipino, but our cabin steward is Felix from Mexico City.
